Spark by Brigid Kemmerer on Netgalley!
Gabriel Merrick plays with fire. Literally.
Sometimes he can even control it. And sometimes he can’t. Like the fire that killed his parents.
Gabriel has always had his brothers to rely on, especially his twin, Nick. But when an arsonist starts wreaking havoc on their town, all the signs point to Gabriel. Only he’s not doing it.
More than Gabriel’s pride is at stake -- this could cost him his family, maybe his life. And no one seems to hear him. Except a shy sophomore named Layne, a brainiac who dresses in turtlenecks and jeans and keeps him totally off balance. Layne understands family problems, and she understands secrets. She has a few of her own.
Gabriel can’t let her guess about his brothers, about his abilities, about the danger that’s right at his heels. But there are some risks he can’t help taking.
The fuse is lit…

I just went on Netgalley and saw that Brigid Kemmerer's next book in the Elemental Series - Spark! is up for request. So go go go~

[Please Read] Taking a Small Break from Blogging..
I haven't been posting much or rather reading much. Mostly because school is closing to an end and I have two papers to finish plus finals.
I'll be absent for awhile but I'll definitely be back. When finals are over summer vacation starts and I'll be posting more often. And, hopefully I'll get a job. *crosses fingers* I'll still be coming on here and Goodreads reading and commenting on posts, just not making much of my own.
So, anyway I'll see you guys soon! Happy reading : )

To Get or Not to Get? THAT is the Question.
There are so many books that I've told myself, written down on some flimsy piece of paper that I would get. I mean you know how when you read a book, and it's just so good! Or even an e-book and you want it physically, you want the physical hardcover book? I get this feeling on so many occasions, you wouldn't believe.
But, there are reasons why I've kept myself from getting the SEQUELS to those books. Of course besides the whole "money problem". (college students are just meant to broke, you know?) Anyway, two main reasons:
1. If it's a sequel, it's mostly because I'm afraid to read it. If I've read non-spoiler reviews on said book and something about one of my favorite characters was mentioned..something bad. Then, I don't want to read it but then again I do. I have a tendency to become attached to some characters, you guys know what I mean right? And, if something tragic or whatever happens to him/her then I don't want to read that. I refuse to get my heart broken. (lol)
2. The second reason is more mainly towards the "second book curse". When the sequel becomes overridden by unnecessary additions to the plot, that it well....sucks compares to the first one. This mostly applies to YA books.
So here are a list of sequel books I'm on the fence of getting:
And, well you get the idea. I'm more worried about Clockwork Prince; someone told me I'd shed tears for a certain person in this one. ;~~~~;
What do you think of this? Are there any sequels you are/were worried about reading?

Library, Library where for art thou?
It's been years, and I mean YEARS since I last stepped foot into my neighborhood library. I know! I know! How could I right? The library should should be like my second home?
Yes and No.
Yes, I love books; which should be pretty obvious. I don't mind going to the library. As a matter of fact that's where I am right now as I am writing this blog post.
No. Mainly, because when I was a visitor of this establishment it was when I was in middle school/early high school years. Now, that I'm in college the only "library" I really do visit is my school when I need help with projects and papers.
So, today I decided to come back and boy am I glad. They totally upgraded on books. Right now, next to this computer I have at least 5 books I've wanting to read. Who knew I'd find it here? The only bad part is that I can't keep it, you know? But, hey! At least I get to read it.
Saratoga Library - my faith in you has been restored.

On Wednesday....
I am waiting. And waiting, and waiting..
This coming Wednesday the UPS man will be handing me or my dad a box. And, in that box are two books (supposed to be three but my mom said no. stupid tax/shipping and handling.) I can't wait to read! And they are..
Y.S Lee's The Agency spy series A Spy in the House and The Body at the Tower.
Ugh, you guys have no idea how long I've been wanting to read this series! It's just something about spy/mystery series especially if it's based in a different era. I'll admit sometimes with certain books the dialogue kind of throws me off and my eyes may glaze over. (lol) But, I'm making an exception for this. :)
You can defintely expect a review of this once I've read it. Whoop-whoop!

A New Year Approaches --- What's your top 5 favorite books of 2011? What are you expecting in 2012?
Well, guys we only have one day left in 2011. Can you believe? So much stuff has happened in my life, probably in yours. Around the world! I read sooo many good books this year. To be honest, I can't even give a exact number as to how many I've read, and that's including books assigned to me from school. But! I do have books that I love, books that I've read more than once over the year. There my top 5 favorite picks of '11.
1. Ilona Andrews - Kate Daniels series. [ I have mentioned before I believe that these books are - gold! I love every character, love the dialogue. If I could marry, you'd receive an invitation.]
2. Rick Riordan - Percy Jackson series. [ Now, I know these books aren't exactly new; but I didn't attempt to read them until this year. And, I enjoyed it! By far, Percy is my favorite character. I can't wait for more adventures. Check it out if you haven't already.]
3. Stephanie Perkins - Anna and the French Kiss/ Lola and the Boy Next Door. [ For a good half of 2011, everyone raved about Perkins' Anna & the F.K, so of course I had to check it out. And, I admit though I do have minor issues with the books, mainly my own problem I very much enjoyed this book. Looking forward to her third one coming out next year.]
4. Rachel Hawkins - Hex Hall/Demonglass. [ I'm dying here waiting for the third book - Spellbound. Sophie is my favorite character and who can resist Archer? It's nothing new this plot, but Hawkins makes it work with Sophie and Archer's sarcastic dialogue and pop culture references. It's like she's speaking to my soul. O-O]
5. Suzanne Collins - Hunger Games trilogy. [ EVERYONE whose EVERYONE has to know about these book. I love how the books was all about this effed up society where people find enjoyment watching kids - excuse my language- beat the shit out of each other. I was like, whatttttt? There's hints of romance but it's not the main focus. How often do you find that in a YA Dystopian book? Anyone?
For 2012, there are continuations of books that I'm waiting for. I don't want to go into them here because honestly, it's a bit too much. haha.
Anyway, what's your top 5 books of the year? And, what books are you waiting for in 2012?
I know I haven't been consisten in doing book reviews, but life decided to butt in a few times. I'll try to be more active in the book community in 2012. But, thank you to everyone who decided to follow me here, and all those who take the time to read my reviews. I'll see you guys in the next year...
WHOOOOOO~ *spreads new year joy and passes out milk/cookies* :)

Hunger Games Movieeee!
Okay so I've been on top of this from the beginning. I've had my doubts during casting time, still do. But, it's all said and done.
I'm excited. I really am, and I hope...I HOPE that this movie doesn't suck as bad the Twilight movies do. No offense to you Twi-hards out there, but I mean in all honesty Hunger Games is much better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
Anyhoo, you can count this post as a pre-introduction to the coming book reviews of The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins!

Non-Book Post
Hey Guys :) This is something new, a "non-book post" where I just discuss something interesting that happened to me.
So, today I went down to Times Square to the MTV studios for a mini-concert. It was of foreign artists from South Korea, more mostly know as KPOP. It's rare for them to come here, and since I'm really into them I HAD to go see them. Overall, I won't make this a long post. So here's the rundown:
- Got on line waited for hours. Feet and Back hurt
- MTV needs to be more organized..
-Was unable to get in studio EVEN THOUGH my name was on the list...(eyeing you MTV..>.>)
-Watched the show from outside on the big screen
-the groups that came were great and VERY adorable. esp. the boys
Highlight of the whole day? I MET HUGH JACKMAN AND HE GAVE A HIGH FIVE. yup, that was good.
p.s if your intrested in why I like KPOP check this video out: GD&TOP - Knock Out
there are MANY MANY groups, these two are unit duo from one of my favs.
don't knock until you try it! Tell me if you like or not!
